ORACLE DATABASE 12C: SQL II – INTERMEDIATE

Course Overview

This course builds upon the prerequisite introductory volume from the Oracle Database 12c: SQL Expert Series and considers intermediate-level SQL topics such as writing database queries using the SQL-99 syntax and exploiting the power of built-in functions that extend the capabilities of SQL. 

You will learn how to complete an application schema definition by creating database objects such as relational views, sequences, synonyms, indexes, and others to complement the table definitions. The crucial topic of data integrity and how this is protected using declarative constraints are covered. 

With this course, you will also leave the idyllic realm of the learning environment and begin to explore such practical real-world considerations as database object security and database performance.

Course Objectives

Course Prequisites

  • Experience working in a Windows Server infrastructure enterprise environment
  • Experience working with Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2012
  • Knowledge of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model
  • Understanding of core networking infrastructure components and technologies such as cabling, routers, hubs, and switches
  • Familiarity with networking topologies and architectures such as local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs) and wireless networking
  • Some basic knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol stack, addressing and name resolution
  • Experience with and knowledge of Hyper-V and virtualization
  • Hands-on experience working with the Windows client operating systems such as Windows 8.1 or Windows 10
